Purim 5785
A relatively small but enthusiastic group of community members celebrated this year's Festival of Lots, the Purim holiday. The organizers, László Dub (community president) and Judith Heimann, did everything to ensure we could celebrate a different kind of Purim again. Albert Nagy provided the technical background. After the prayer, recited by Dezső Rosenberg, László Dub briefly explained the significance of Purim, then we listened to cheerful, occasion-appropriate songs selected by Judith Heimann on the computer projector. This was followed by completing a questionnaire, also compiled by her, consisting of 15 questions and rewarding those who gave correct answers. Since several participants achieved similar scores, we decided the ranking by drawing lots (after all, it was Purim). The winner could take home a lemon (3rd prize), an orange (2nd prize), and a pomelo (1st prize). The losers could console themselves with a piece of candy each.
Next came the eating, but rather (in moderation) drinking part.
Chag Purim Sameach!
