"Aphorisms, jokes, wise sayings"
2025-12-06

This is the title of a small, booklet-sized collection by our fellow believer Miklós Grünstein, published in Hungarian, Romanian, and Hebrew. Instead of commentary, here are a few sentences from the introduction to the volume:
"Miklós Grünstein was born in 1940 in Gyergyószárhegy. As a Jew, his father was called up for labor service in 1942, and his mother was tragically lost in 1944 when a train was hit by an air raid. He and his two younger sisters were rescued from the death train and, as orphans, were placed with Christian families in Csorna (Hungary). This saved them from extermination....
He married in 1968 and had two sons: David, who lives in Sweden, and Shaul, who found a home in Israel... He emigrated to Sweden in 1989... In September 2022, he repatriated to Romania, where today, at nearly 86 years of age, he continues to live an active intellectual life: he writes, collects, and shares aphorisms, wise sayings, and humorous stories.... In addition to his aphorisms, Miklós loves to take photographs... The pictures in this booklet are the fruits of his labor...
This little book is not only a collection of witty thoughts, but also a testimony to a life: a story of humor, wisdom, and survival that reflects Miklós's life and outlook...
The volume was digitized by his son and printed at the Ofer Print printing house in Tel Aviv.
Congratulations, and keep up the good work, MIKLÓS!!!
