For the fourth time, the Targu Mures Synagogue was chosen as the location for a chamber
music concert sustained by the Sighisoara Music Academy, led by maestro Alexandru
Gavrilovici. This time those who entertained us were the "Paret Quartet" (Andrea Duca –
violin, Marta Hernando Jimenez – violin, Alicia Salas Ruiz – violin, Joaquin Fernandez Diaz –
cello) with works by Luigi Boccherini, Gaetano Brunetti , Leo Weiner. Even though the
Jewish community updated Mr. Gabrilovici in advance, that it cannot finance this year the
concert and its participants, he accepted that this time the expenses will be covered by the
Academy. The concert was a huge success, and the performers admitted they enjoyed very
much singing in such a nice place, both as architecture and acoustics. In a very friendly
atmosphere, we ended a wonderful evening in the praying hall of the community over a
bottle of kosher wine.
